Where to Stay on Vashon Island

Here on Vashon Island places to stay are plentiful. When people are planning to visit, we often get asked where to stay. We have many types of places to choose from including Vashon Island vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, and even or own hotel! Anyone can do a quick search on the internet and find them, however, we have put together a list of places WE recommend to folks visiting our little island. We have heard really good things about the VRBO’s and BnB’s that we list here and for you, the family, couple, artist, author that is looking for a place to stay on Vashon, these are some great options.

On Vashon Island, we have a few general types of “locations”:

- By the Beach
- In the forest
- Up town

Here are some things to think about when choosing where to stay on Vashon Island:

- Do you want a place next to the beach?
  - Vashon Island is known for our beautiful beaches. Nothing is more relaxing then hearing the waves crash in the morning.
- Do you want to stay close to town?
  - Downtown Vashon has a great nightlife. Lots of people mingling, tons of live music and events.
- Do you want a modern or rustic style location?
  - Many of our VRBO’s have a cabin feel which people love. Others are quite modern. Our island hotel, The Lodges on Vashon is quite modern and zen.
- Do you want it quiet?
  - One thing you will notice about Vashon Island is that it’s very quiet. If quiet is what you are looking for, make sure your rental is not close to the main drag. Yes. We have one road, top to bottom of the island.
- Do you want a social experience?
  - Events, gatherings and concerts are normal around Vashon. If you are looking for crowds, come to Vashon during the Sheepdog Classic, Strawberry Festival, Passport to Pain or Stupid Bike Night. Tons of people to interact and share time with.
- Do you want to be romantic?
  - Want some special 1:1 time with your partner? Talk about being together. From the ferry ride over to the ferry ride back, bring your special somebody and make a weekend of it. Just the two of you.
